We are looking for

We are looking for an experienced Medical Statistician/Data Scientist to join our expanding Data Services team. The analysis of data, in a regulated and controlled manner, is an important growth area for the company and this is an exciting opportunity to join us in a key role, taking a lead on the design, development and delivery of studies using real-world Ophthalmology EMR datasets.

 

The successful candidate will be thorough and systematic with a keen eye for detail. Excellent technical ability and a proven aptitude for problem-solving are essential. They will be proactive in their approach and confident dealing with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external alike. 

Your responsibilities

  • Development of study protocols, statistical analysis plans (SAPs) and reports
  • Cleaning and preparing real-world EMR data extracts 
  • Conduct statistical analysis on real-world datasets as per study protocol/SAP
  • Quality Assurance of statistical results and outputs
  • Preparing and presenting statistical analysis results
  • Supporting the preparation and development of abstracts and manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals
  • Acting as a mentor to less experienced team members
  • Project management of assigned studies
  • Support Business Development activities, including proposal development

Your qualifications

  • PhD or MSc in Biostatistics, Statistics, Data/Computer Science or related discipline

Your profile

  • Extensive knowledge of statistical modelling techniques and proficiency using statistical programming packages such as R and Python 
  • Proficient working with relational database structures preferably MSSQL
  • Experience in analysing large and complex real-world (Medical) datasets
  • Experience managing multiple projects with competing timelines
  • Ability to engage with a broad range of people across different business functions
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills and a proven aptitude for problem-solving
  • Meticulous attention to detail

 

Desirable additional criteria:

 

  • Experience working with Ophthalmology data a significant advantage
  • Experience of working with complex Healthcare datasets and coding definitions 
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning Techniques and/or Deep Learning methods, including image-based algorithms
  • Previous experience in large-scale data mining or Artificial Intelligence.
  • Exposure to Clinical Trials
